DESCRIPTION

Full architectural services for a 935,000 SF, 47-story office building along Charlotte’s busy, strategic North Tryon Street corridor.  The project includes a 1,400-car parking deck, an urban plaza, and associated retail amenities.  The project faces SRSS’s previous Charlotte venture, the 30-story IJL Financial Center across a 1/3-acre plaza.

The new open space preserves the pedestrian friendly scale of the area as well as provides a focus for the activity generated by the 40,000 SF of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space located on the building’s first three floors.  The tower lobby and plaza are connected to the IJL Financial Center by an elevated, retail lined pedestrian walkway to Founder’s Hall, extending the network of public amenities established by Spirit Square and the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.

The tree and shrub lined North Tryon Plaza leads pedestrians into a courtyard with fountains and benches in front of the main entrance.  The plaza continues Charlotte’s effort to maintain extensive urban green spaces.
